Set of flexible metal brake lines Hel to improve and optimize the feel of braking, especially suitable for sports driving on street and circuit tracks.
Brake lines are hoses that channel brake fluid under brake pedal pressure. The pipes are usually rigid at the exit of the pump, but when they reach the wheels, they must be flexible so that they work together with the suspensions, otherwise they will break when they are rigid.
These hoses are usually made of rubber reinforced with an inner fiber braid, with the passage of time, these components suffer the attacks of external agents such as rain, mud, earth, stones, snow, saltpeter, sand ... etc.
It is vitally important to ensure that you always keep the brake lines in perfect condition.
It is easy for a deterioration, no matter how small, to go unnoticed both to us and to the workshops that carry out routine maintenance checks. In case of having a hose like the one in the figure below, it goes without saying the fatal circumstances in which it could lead if the brakes suddenly fail due to a hose blowout and sudden loss of brake fluid.
Recommended mounting
- It is strongly recommended that the assembly is done by a specialized technical service, if you do not have adequate tools or knowledge, do not make the change.
- Make sure once assembled that all connections are tight and with the right tools.
- Always use a good quality brake fluid with a high boiling point to ensure good braking.
- Make a good bleed of air to have a good brake feel, especially make sure that there is no air bubble left in the system. There should be a firm pedal feel and no dead spots.
- It is best to check the lines in each change of brake pads and replace them preferably every 5 years, and at most every 10 years
