The Scirocco 2.0 R
Designed to fit all models, this freer-flowing intercooler is a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM set up.
With a 55mm core design together with high-flow cast end tanks and lower alloy scoop to force air directly to the core, the AIRTEC intercooler offers much greater surface area, efficiency and volume over standard.Despite this improvement, it fits neatly behind the original bumper, requires no trimming or cutting and can be used with the original houses.
Tested @ Devil Developments rolling road – Testing carried out on Golf Mk5 GTI 2.0 TFSi 200ps, Data collected was Intake Temperatures before & after Intercooler & bhp Increase’s.
Standard Intercooler & Stage 1 Ecu Remap – Intake Temperature of 46 degrees!@ 239.7bhp ’46 degrees is a close limit before Ecu starts delaying timing to keep the engine safe, which means you will start to lose power.
Airtec stage 2 2.0 TFSI Intercooler upgrade & Stage 1 Ecu Remap – Intake Temperature of 27 degrees @ 253.4bhp.
The Airtec Intercooler makes the Charged Air (Intake Temps) cool so you gain Horse power.
The Airtec Intercooler will really come into its own when used on more modified vehicles, even bigger BHP gains could be seen on serious spec car which include, full exhaust, turbo upgrades etc, these modifications put serious strain on the cooling ability of the stock Intercooler, and you could be losing in excess of 30+ bhp!Just by keeping you standard Intercooler fitted.
