DriftMax Pro Steering Lock Adapters for BMW E46
Características en el idioma original
DriftMax "Pro" adapters allow you to exceed 60° steering angle. Their performance, excellent quality and great robustness make them perfectly suited to intensive use on the track and in competition. Installed between the hub carriers, the lower wishbones and the steering rods, they modify the design of the front axle to allow for a larger lock angle, correct the roll center and limit the bump steer (unwanted change of toe in and toe out with shock absorber travel).
This product requires modifications in order to be fitted. It is not possible to use it on an stock front axle. The following parts are required for installation:
Please note that the length of the selected lower arms will determine the length of the steering rods.
The above information is only an example. There are many other ways to make a correct assembly, but extended lower arms are the first step, then all other parts must be prepared to fit these lower arms.
Our steering adapters cannot be fitted to a full stock car without adjusting the length of the tie rods.
The adapters provide a large steering angle and because of this, the use of larger arms is strongly recommended.
You will find below some alignment values, tested and approved by ourselves and our customers, known to give good results in drifting and offer optimal control of the vehicle. Of course, this guide remains generic: it offers basic guidelines, to be adapted according to your vehicle and its modifications, its weight and power, your driving style, the type of tires, the track or the weather conditions, etc. It is not specific to BMW, and can be used as a reference on many other cars such as Nissan 200SX, Skyline, Mazda MX-5, RX-8, Toyota Supra ...
