Sabelt FIA homologated seats for competition
All Sabelt seats are dynamically tested.
This standard FIA 8855/99 test, helps to verify the resistance and effectiveness
of competition seats. Sabelt Lab tests on each seat model 3 crashes: backwards,
lateral and once again backwards with minimum deceleration values of 20g,
15g and 10g (g = 9,806 m/s
2
).
Thanks to this advanced and unique lab test, it is possible to examine and study
daily crash results, having the possibility of more advanced technical solutions.
For the final user this means an offer of lighter and safer seats. These tests in particular, give the possibility to adapt to lamination plans (sequence operations
where resins and fibres are prepared in the mould) to the variation to the seat
geometry, particularly important when there are several versions of XL seats.
SABELT has therefore developed the new series of seats with a special attention
to those with larger than standard dimensions, to support the request of many
drivers that have been asking since long time for an acceptable comfort, not easy
to obtain with standard seats.
The development of these seats has been studied respecting the needs of placing
inside narrow compartments; the particular shape actually permits a perfect
interior habitability, lowering the interference with the door bars of the roll-bar
and with the central tunnel, hot spot for the XL seats designed in traditional
way.
